Which thrall is best for Cerberus? ›

It does not matter which style of thrall is used. Death runes and Soul runes for Death Charge to allow for more special attacks per trip. These inventory slots can be substituted for more food or prayer potions.

As a hellhound-type boss, Cerberus has high offensive stats (220) but has a low Defence level (100). She is weak to melee attacks, primarily crush-based ones. She is slightly resistant to stab attacks and resistant against slash, magic and ranged attacks.

Defeating Cerberus requires a Slayer level of 91, along with a task of hellhounds or Cerberus herself. In the event of a hellhound or elite clue scroll task, wild pies may be used to boost the player's Slayer level.

Cerberus is more difficult to tackle with melee-centric builds, as his area of effect attacks often force you to leave engagement distance and he's so large that skills like the Sister Blades' Ω-Attack don't give you as much mobility as is usually the case – you must venture well into his attack range to use it.

The best Slayer master to get Cerberus tasks from is Duradel who assigns tasks of 130-200 Hellhounds. Players wishing to extend the task may use bracelets of slaughter, preferably by switching to it at the end of each kill to get the benefit from other gloves for most of the kill.

Cerberus has a few different special attacks all of which can be deadly if not dealt with correctly. For the majority of the fight, you should use the protect from magic prayer and attack with melee.

Cerberus will restore all of its health if there are no players in its lair (it only has an examine option when this happens). A dwarf multicannon cannot be set up inside Cerberus' Lair; if attempted, you will receive the message: You cannot place the cannon here, it would melt.

As a mini-boss, Cerberus is immune to all instant kills, including Death Ray, so it cannot be countered by this skill. Death Ray is wasted for fast and/or numerous enemies (e.g. Wulves, Worgs, Giant Spiders).

Groups of Cerberi enable the "Drill Juggling" technique as well. Projectiles of Cerberus can best be parried by moving towards it as the projectile is thrown.

Petting him 10 times earns the Three-Headed Boy achievement, which is an indicator that you're at least halfway there.
