Athena Pallas - Zelda Universe Forums (2024)

Name: Athena Pallas
Nickname /Alias: Minerva, Athene
Theme Song: Lost Time
Age: Unknown
Apparent Age: 27
Sex: Female
Race: Greek Goddess; Patron of War, Wisdom and Crafts
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 145 lbs
Eye Color: Athena has stormy grey which seem to cut into the soul.
Hair Color/Style: Athena has wavy black hair which reaches slightly past her shoulders. It is rather wiry, and no matter never seems to tangle or have split ends. Even when messed up, over the course of the day with no effort on Athena's part it seems to get tidier.
Skin Color/Complexion: Athena has sun-kissed olive skin which appears light brown. It is completely flawless, and even when she gets an injury it leaves no scar.

Appearance: Athena has an aura of wisdom, almost like when you walk into a huge library and you are awed by the sheer amount of knowledge which lays in the halls. However, at the same time people will also feel there is something dangerous about Athena, and that crossing her would be a bad idea.

As a goddess, Athena is physically perfect. Everything about her is pleasing to the eye, and there is not a flaw to be found anywhere. Even with the slow loss of her power, her beauty has not been blemished in any form.

Athena has an athletic build, and her face is full round strong, with a masculine chin and a high nose that has a high bridge as a natural extension of the forehead. Athena's eyes are somewhat deeply set. Her unsmiling lips are usually full, but her mouth is fairly narrow, usually just slightly wider than the nose and Athena's neck is somewhat long. The net result is a serene, serious, somewhat aloof, and very masculine beauty.

She is donned in a long blue short sleeved shirt which stops about seven inches above her knee. Over this she has a hard brown leather vest. She had black pants which stops four inches after the knee and has a pair of brown leather riding boots. Over her shoulders she has a red cape (which stops around her butt) with a round golden clasp keeping it on.

Weapon(s): Athena, as the goddess of war, has a large selection of weapons which she is fully proficient in hidden in an alternate dimension which is linked to her abilities and powers. While once upon a time Athena could carry a great many things in this space, nowadays what she can carry now is greatly limited.

Athena can make these weapons appear and disappear at will, materializing any amount of them as she wants at one time, but each weapon can be summoned one at a time. Each weapon takes two seconds to materialize and she can make them appear while she is in movement.

Dory Spear- Athena has a steel Greek spear which is three meters in length. It's shaft is made out of olive wood with a diameter of two inches. At the end of the spear is a bronze butt spike. Not only does it serve as a stabilizer to the flat leaf-shaped spearhead, but a secondary weapon.

Javelin (Pilum) - Athena carries a javelin typically used by the Roman armies. It is two meters long overall consisting of an iron shank about 7 mm in diameter and 60 cm long with pyramidal head. The shank is joined to the wooded shaft by a socket. The total weight of the pilum is about 11 lbs and has a total range of 30 meters (100 feet), but the effective range is from 15-20 meters (50 to 70 feet).

The iron shank is the key to the function of the pilum. The weapon has a hard pyramidal tip but the shank itself is not hardened. The softness of the shank causes it to bend after impact, thus rendering the weapon useless to the enemy. More importantly, if the pilum struck the shield of an enemy it would embed itself into the shield's fabric, and this along with the bending of the shank would cause the shield to become unwieldy, forcing the enemy to discard it or waste time trying to pull it out. The former action tends to happen more often than the latter as affected soldiers couldn't risk removing the pilum without disrupting their formation during an advance or losing their lives during a melee.

Xiphos - A double edged, single-handed sword about 60 cms in length made out of iron. The Xiphos' leaf shaped design lends itself to both cutting and thrusting. Typically it is used as a secondary weapon.

Makhaira- The Makhaira is a sword three feet in length. It is made out of steel and has one edge primarily made to cut. It has a slight arc and the handle is wrapped in died black leather.

Armor: Like her weapons, Athena has a large selection of armor available hidden in an alternate dimension which is linked to her abilities and powers. While once upon a time Athena could carry a great many things in this space, nowadays what she can carry now is greatly limited.

Athena can make her armor appear and disappear at will, materializing any amount of them as she wants at one time, but each piece of armor can only be summoned one at a time. Armor takes two seconds to materialize and she can make them appear while she is in movement.

Greek Helmet- Athena has a steel Greek helmet which has been painted gold. It covers all of her head but her eyes and mouth. On the top of the helmet is red plumage which stands up like a Mohawk.

  • Aegis- Athena has a round shield with the image of Medusa, who was a Gorgon with snakes for hair, on the shield. The shield is two feet in diameter and is made out of gold. Despite this, however, it is unbreakable due to the fact it was crafted by Hephaestus. Not only that, but the Aegis has the ability to reflect any magic which comes into contact with it back at its cast
  • Lorica Squamata- Another word for this is scale amour. It consists of several iron scales that have been attached to simple backing material (in this case, linen). While this amour offers flexibility with some protection, it can't protect her against her against more powerful attacks/weapons as regular armor could.
  • Steel Muscle Amour- This amour is modeled off what the Greeks felt what the height of physical perfection was. Which, basically, was an eight pack. It protects the breast and back with leather ties at the shoulders to keep it on. While this protects Athena from more powerful attacks/weapons, it takes away her mobility.
  • Steel greaves- A piece of amour which protects the front of the leg.

Carried Possessions: None

Powers/Magic/Skills: Athena may be a goddess, but she is losing power as one. Despite this though she has a vast array of skills which she can draw from.

  • Warfare-First and foremost, Athena is the patron goddess of warfare. Strategic warfare. In addition to being well versed and incredibly talent with various weapons, she has the ability to make strategies, lead armies to victory. Despite not leading an army in years, it is not a skill simply forgotten. She is a force to be reckoned with, on and off the war field.
  • Wisdom - Athena is incredibly cunning and has the ability to use her knowledge (which is extensive) in a judicious way. Wisdom is the deep understanding and realization of people, things, events or situations, resulting in the ability to apply perceptions, judgments and actions in keeping with this understanding. It often requires control of one's emotional reactions, so that universal principles, reason and knowledge prevail to determine one's actions. Wisdom is also the comprehension of what is true coupled with optimum judgment as to action. She mainly relies on trickery and has the tendency to overlook simple solutions to things. Just because she is wise does not mean she is all knowing. She isn't.
  • Crafts- Athena may be the patron goddess of crafts in general, but she is an excellent weaver. And by excellent, I mean godly, excuse the pun. Metalwork also technically falls under this category, but she really doesn't do much with this due to this besides the artistic side of it.
  • Celestial jump- Athena has two forms; spiritual and mortal. Her spiritual form can only be seen by those with celestial blood (such as angels, gods, demi-gods and demons) and those who she allows to see her. This typically is Roxy. It drives Roxy insane since people can't see Athena and think Roxy is speaking to herself.
  • Celestial sense- Athena can sense other celestial beings (angels, gods, demi-gods, demons, etc.) in her immediate area.

Battle Strengths: Athena is a goddess of war and wisdom. In scuffles, she can and will kick your f*cking ass. She doesn't rely on the blood lust part of fighting, but uses her wisdom and cunning to make strategic ploys and plans. She may be a goddess out of antiquity, but that doesn't mean she isn't keeping up with the times. She knows about things such as guns, electricity and magical powers.
Battle Weaknesses: Athena may be a force to be reckoned with, but her greatest skill comes from her brain and ability to fight. Athena isn't physically super strong, so it isn't hard for those with super strength (or male gods) to physically overpower her. Not only that, but she feels the need to protect her companions such as Roxy, Aphrodite and whoever else she may be traveling with, even if they are able to take care of themselves. So, by targeting another person, it is possible to get the upper hand on Athena in her attempt to save them.

Other: Athena has a small tawny owl by the name of Glaucus who comes and goes as he pleases. He typically seems to magically appear whenever Athena truly needs him as if he is answering an unsaid call, but most of the time he is AWOL. He's a douchebag to everybody but Athena.

Personality: Athena is the very best and worst humanity has to offer. Despite this, she is one of the calmest and most reasonable of the Greek pantheon, constantly being called into mediate between different groups whether it be gods and humans, gods and gods or humans and humans. However, her time around humans have made her become a bit more like them. She is no longer as extreme in her emotions.

Despite being a goddess of war, Athena doesn't actually like fighting without a purpose and she prefers to use her wisdom to settle predicaments. She will only encourage fighting for a reasonable cause or to resolve conflict.

Athena has a big heart. A very big heart. She tries to take the burden of the world on her shoulders, literally. She doesn't do this in an attempt to make people worship her again, but because she feels it is the right thing to do. This, however, can make her stressed and emotionally exhausted, which tends to lead to physical exhaustion.

At the same time, she has a short fuse when she is irritated and this can lead up to drastic measures. However, luckily for those around her, they are no longer as drastic as they were when she was in her prime. They are fair, but harsh.

Most of the time though, she is cool, calm, collected if not a bit aloof. She has no problem with saying what is on her mind and saying she is a goddess, even if nobody believes her. She doesn't say this once again to be worshipped, but that is what she is. She doesn't see the need to hide this.

Athena is a virgin. She gets flustered by the idea of sexual activities, especially those which center around lust, very easily. As a result, her cousin Aphrodite flusters her and irritates her, and her cool and calm posterior is broken when she is interacting with her. Despite this, Athena somehow gets along very well with Aphrodite, which no doubt goes back to her big heart. Also, on the same token, Athena does rely on Aphrodite now for emotional support since the whole civil war between the gods since for some reason Aphrodite seems to understand her the best. The only other people who understand Athena on this level is Nike and Artemis.

Athena, for some reason, loves liars. She loves good liars. She enjoys their cunning. She knows when people are talking bull sh*t, but she enjoys it when people are so good at lying that other people believe them.

Fears: Dying; her mortality
Virtues: Athena is a hero. She trains hero, so what do you expect? She is virtuous and fair, and will always fight on the side she feels is right. Even if she is fighting by herself.
Vices: Athena has a temper. She can be petty and childish. Athena may be a goddess, but she isn't perfect. She's far from it. She tends to take everything on her own shoulders, and doesn't want to burden other people.

History: Anybody who is familiar with mythology should be familiar with Athena. She was one of the Olympian 12, and still plays a major part in mortals lives even as the Greek and Roman empire began to decline and her and her pantheon began to slid into oblivion. Right now, it is through the grace of the Atlantis city state and other random believers scattered here and there throughout the worlds has Athena managed to stay alive. She has lost many of her powers though, and those that are listed above are the few which have remained with her.

Athena has been a vagabond, traveling throughout the worlds for many years using the Dome. She knows many gods and goddesses of various cultures, some of which she gets along better with others. However, when the opportunity presented itself with Roxane, the young descendant of Cronus, the Titan God of Time, she took it. Her original goal was to help Roxy find the Lavta and save Atlantis, which would hopefully save the Greek pantheon.

However, on their visit to a museum where she hid Pandora's Box, she found it missing, much to her horror. She was able to find the key with the help of Hercules, but during her chase to get the key, she accidentally started a civil war between the gods when Zeus wanted to use Pandora's Box to kill the humans for them not worshipping them anymore. Athena felt that humans have been nothing but their kicking tool since the very beginning and unfairly punished for their fights and disagreed.

Now she is in a race not only to find the Lavta, but to find Pandora's Box before her father and his group.
